The Common Rule
Sojourners – Room 218
9:30 a.m. on Sundays from September 7th
When Jesus taught in parables, he was doing more than telling simple morality
tales. His stories were grounded in the world in which he lived and his vision of the Kingdom of God. We will explore six parables that give us a window into
Jesus’s message and movement, and, once they are heard in their own context, ask what they might mean for us today.

Children’s Church
Children (K – 5th Grade)
We believe it’s important for children to be in, and even help lead, worship at 10:50 a.m. with their families and the other adults in the congregation. They also need their own special time of learning and so we have a children’s moment in each worship service after which the children are invited to go with Dr. Mark for age-appropriate learning and activities related to the adult sermon. Children’s Church utilizes award-winning children’s books to convey the messages of the gospel and offers a creative and impactful way to make biblical teachings more relatable and memorable for young minds.
By integrating these beloved stories, which often come with vibrant illustrations and engaging narratives, we can help children connect with gospel principles on a personal level. This approach is crucial because it leverages the familiarity and appeal of well-crafted literature to bridge complex spiritual concepts with everyday experiences, making the teachings more accessible and understandable. As children see gospel truths reflected in stories they already enjoy, they are more likely to internalize and retain these lessons, fostering a deeper and more meaningful faith. After their portion comes to a close, children then return in time to share Communion with their families.
Youth Church
Youth (6th – 12th Grade)
We believe it’s important for our youth to be in, and even help lead, worship at 10:50 a.m. with their families and the other adults in the congregation. They also need their own time of age-appropriate learning, and after the children’s moment in the worship service, they are invited to go to their own time of study and reflection around the topic of the adult sermon. They then return in time to share Communion with their families.
