Our Common Life

Is more than just politics

Politics is often taken to be a dirty word, but political processes are the way our communities organize our common life. For people of faith, public policy is never merely politics. It is a way of living out the commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves. To learn more about The United Church of Christ’s voting campaign, click here

Answering the Call

In Action and In Truth

Voting answers the call of 1 John 3:18 to “let us not love with words or speech, but in action and in truth.” It offers the opportunity to vote with love for creation, for our neighbors both here and abroad, for a just peace, for repair and reconciliation of the brokenness of our nation…and to encourage our family, friends, and community to do the same..

Pledge to Vote Today!

This pledge was developed as a way for you (and your friends and family!) to maintain accountability when it comes to voting. Many studies show that we are more likely to complete an action when we make a public commitment to it.

Making an informed vote helps our community, and pledging to vote helps The Metropolitan Organization (TMO) and our congregation impact the shaping of good public policy to benefit our families and communities. Take this next quick step and share it so that your loved ones can, too!

Be sure to list Bering Church in the “Your Institution” field. We will be notified when members of our community sign up as we work toward our goal of having 150 people from Bering Church pledge to vote. You make all the difference in our church and our communities, and we are blessed by your faithfulness to our ministry and God’s call to action and truth.

You must be registered at least 30 days before Election Day to be eligible to vote in 2024.

And remember – if you will be 18 years old on or before Election Day 2024 (Nov. 5),
you are eligible to register to vote NOW!
