Bering is looking for 15-20 volunteers to help distribute food through the YMCA on Fridays, from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm, starting Friday May 8. If we have a few Spanish speakers on the team that would really help. These are the two main food pantry volunteer roles:
Client Intake: This is a position for a volunteer who speaks Spanish and is comfortable being outside for 30 minutes to an 1 hour.
Warehouse Preparation: Volunteers in this position help put together the boxes and load them into the clients car.
All volunteers and staff have their temperature taken before volunteering and hand sanitizer is available. Volunteers also wear a mask as well.
Before you can volunteer you must complete the Bering sign up, the YMCA volunteer application, as well as the child safety course (approximately 30 mins). On the YMCA volunteer application, check Friday and mornings and Warehouse prep (and client intake if you speak Spanish). Paige Martin and Pastor Cassy will get us organized after we sign up and complete the child safety course. If you have further questions contact Paige Martin at [email protected].
